PDC General Membership MEETING

January 9, 2020

Speaker: Jill Cody, author of America Abandoned and Climate Abandoned.  Spoke and answered questions from members.  Read quotes from her book.  Republican Party is Libertarian now and destroying our democracy.  A movement has started to impeach conservative judges that Republicans have been steadily electing to state and local courts.  Check out "The Corporate Coup D'Etat" DVD and Michael Moore's new Podcast "Rumble."

Candidates on March 3 primary ballot spoke briefly:  Glenn Glazer (DCC rep), Katherine Beiers for S.C. City Council, and Adam Spickler spoke in support of Measure R: Cabrillo College $274 million bond, supporting much-needed facilities maintenance and construction.

PDC members unanimously endorsed Tim Fitzmaurice running for City Council seat of Drew Glover (if recalled) and Katherine Beiers for seat of Chris Krohn (if recalled) by a vote of all but 1 No-vote.  Judge Candidate Annrae Angel was voted a campaign donation of $350.

DCC candidates proposed were all endorsed unanimously: 1st District: Spickler and Hochman; 2nd District: Block, Elerick, Solick, Baird; 

3rd District: Babatola, Strawn, Falls, Dawson, Orgel-Olson;

4th District: Sarmiento;

5th District: Glazer, Swin-Satterlee, Erdman, Deely, Chiaramonte.

Members unanimously endorsed a donation of $1,000 to No On Recall campaign.

After a short, but animated discussion, PDC members voted 11 to 8 to retain affiliation with DCC and State Democratic Party.
