JULY 31st is the deadline for public comments on Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) policy regarding pesticide use near schools.  We are half-way to our local goal of 100 letters.

If you haven't already, PLEASE EMAIL YOUR LETTER ASAP, calling (at least) for one-mile pesticide-free buffer zones around schools (This is the local priority of the Safe Strawberry Monterey Bay Working Group).

Email brian.leahy@cdpr.ca.govgeorge.farnsworth@cdpr.ca.gov (and please blind copy me - mark@pesticidereform.org - on your letters, too!): Sample email-..

Dear Director Leahy and Chief of Enforcement Farnsworth:

Protect California schoolchildren from the health threats of hazardous pesticides.  I urge you to implement a 1-mile pesticide-free buffer zone around all schools.

Sincerely,
